What I Like

What I Don't Like

Design

This scroll saw has a 9/16-inch stroke length, allowing it to cut approximately 1.4 centimeters as it moves back and forth. It can cut down up to two inches into a variety of materials, including plywood, MDF and plastic sheeting.

The 1.2-amp motor gives you plenty of power to cut through thick materials for an optimal level of efficiency. Measuring 24 by 11 by 13 inches with a weight of around 28 pounds, this saw is fairly light and doesn’t take up a ton of space. It is great for cutting wood but struggles a bit with metal.

The sheer durability of this saw is fairly impressive. It made of ABS plastic and a variety of metal alloys that go particularly well together. The table underneath consists of cast-iron material that will be able to stand the test of time. All of the knobs and switches this saw features are plastic, but they are still very durable. The cast iron table is very sturdy, so you won’t have to worry about the saw moving around while you are working. This makes it easier to get precision results.

In my extensive use of various saws, I’ve found that this particular one stands out due to its remarkably user-friendly design. The mechanism for changing blades is straightforward and hassle-free. Notably, it’s versatile enough to work seamlessly with both pinless and pinned blades.

Features

Variable Speed Control

Similar to Dewalt DW7788  with a variable speed dial, this saw has a speed control dial that can be set from 400 to 1600 SPM, allowing you to get the most accurate performance possible. You can quickly and easily adjust the speed according to the material you are working with.

Screw Blade Adapter

Having spent a considerable amount of time with various saws, I can personally vouch for the convenience of this one, thanks to its screw blade adapter. It lets me change blades swiftly and effortlessly, eliminating the need for additional tools. This feature significantly smoothens the overall working experience with this saw.

Flex Light

The flex light on this saw gives you maximum visibility at all times so that you can see what you are doing. It can be easily bent and adjusted for the perfect angle no matter what. This can be a very useful feature even if you already have overhead lighting.

Adjustable Air Pump

You will be able to adjust the air pump to clear sawdust away from your work area. This makes it a lot easier to do your cutting work without any frustrating obstructions. It is fairly powerful, so you shouldn’t have to deal with any sawdust covering your design.

16-Inch Throat

I’ve found that this scroll saw’s 16-inch throat genuinely stands out. It provides me with ample space to handle larger material pieces, especially when I’m working with wide wood or other materials that need cutting. It’s an aspect that significantly enhances convenience.

Foot Clamp

There is also a hold-down foot clamp that will allow you to keep your material securely in place at all times to reduce the chances of making any mistakes. Similar to the Wen LL2156 scroll saw, it’s easy to use and does a good job of increasing the accuracy of your cuts.

Onboard Storage

You will have onboard storage for all of your blades so you can keep them organized and in their proper place. This gives you quick and convenient access to any blade you need for the project you happen to be working on at the moment.

  1. I bought a unit from Amazon about a week ago. Very good pricce and quick delivery. Unit arrived w/o any apparent damage and is working well, EXCEPT for it having a “stutter” (hesitation in the up-and-down noise when actually cutting wood). The machine cuts just fine with the pinless adapter, but the “stutter” is distracting Those who have this model and this “problem” will know what I am talking about.

I am wondering if this is serious enough for me to return the unit, or whether it will eventually go away. Any help/infomation you can give me would be most appreciated.

  2. Hey Irv,
I think you should return your unit and get a new one with the warranty, Amazon usually don’t have those problems but when they do they quickly fix it.
