How to Use the Radius & Chamfer Plane
Uses & Features
-
Enhanced Accuracy with Built-in Fence
Accurate cutting requires the plane being held at a 45-degree angle to the workpiece. The built-in fence helps ensure proper placement and alignment while cutting.
-
Quick and Easy Blade Changeouts
The seven different blades are easily interchangeable, allowing you to switch from one to another in less than a minute.
-
Easy Thumbwheel Depth Adjustment
Thumbscrew depth of cut adjustment allows you to quickly and accurately set the desired cut, and a second thumbscrew locks the blade depth in position.
-
Easy To Sharpen Blades
Simply rub the back of the blade on any honing stone or diamond plate to sharpen. Remove any burr with a diamond sharpening rod.
-
Convenient Horizontal and Vertical Bubble Levels
Bubble levels are installed in the sides of the plane, both for horizontal and vertical measurement. While not necessary for using the plane, they provide a convenient level, readily at hand, when needed.

Types of Bit Cuts
This plane works well for what it’s designed to do. The built-in fence makes it easy to keep cuts straight, and the depth adjustment is simple to fine-tune. The blade profiles offer a nice variety for different edge styles, and the cuts are smooth. It’s definitely not a replacement for a router, but for smaller jobs or when you want more control, it’s a great tool to have.
This tool saved me a ton of time. I was able to round over edges super quickly without needing to grab the router. Plus, it’s safer and much easier to use on small parts. At the end of the day, I’m really happy with it. For the price, it’s definitely 5 stars from me
Easy to set up and adjust. I used to dread pulling out my router for small edge work, but this plane has changed that. It’s so much quicker and less messy.
I’ve been using this plane on both softwoods and hardwoods, and it works well across the board. The chamfer setting is especially useful for breaking edges quickly. The blade stays sharp through multiple projects, and it’s easy to fine-tune the depth of cut. It takes a little practice to get the perfect pass, but once you do, it’s a time saver. A great tool for adding subtle design elements to woodworking projects.
