The Robertson Square drive for screws has been around for over a century, even longer than Phillips head screws. Yet one of the few places that Robertson Drive screws have found a home is in woodworking; and even there, it is somewhat limited, with the biggest use being for pocket hole joinery. The superior grip that the Square Drive provides helps prevent screw cam-out, as well as the bit slipping and gouging the wood. Our 6” (150mm) bit is ideal for pocket hole joinery, allowing the woodworker to reach into corners where an impact driver head might get in the way.
