Our SharpMate sharpening jig comes with 400/1000 grit stone that does excellent job of giving you consistently sharp chisels and plane blades. But they can get sharper still. This 3000/6000 grit stone which fits your sharpening jig, will give you a finer hone, increasing the sharpness of your blade. It’s not a replacement for the existing stone; but rather the next step, to be taken after using the primary stone.
Stone is the same size as the primary stone, rated at 3000 grit on one side and 6000 grit on the other.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the dimensions of the stone?
The 3000/6000 Grit Water stone is 49mm x 198mm x 25mm
Is this stone compatible with the Sharpmate sharpening jig?
Does this replace the stone that comes with Sharpmate?
No. The 3000/6000 grit stone is an upgrade stone meant for refining after sharpening on the included 400/1000 grit stone.
When should I use the 3000/6000 stone in the sharpening process?
Use it after your edge is already shaped and honed on a coarser stone. The 3000 grit refines the edge, and the 6000 grit brings it to a razor-sharp finish.
Do I need to soak the stone before use?
Yes. Soak the stone in water before use for best results.
How often does this stone need to be flattened?
Like all water stones, it may need occasional flattening depending on use. Flattening ensures consistent contact and accurate sharpening.
