As a seasoned lawn care specialist, I’ve tried countless lawnmowers, ranging from the manual push reel type to the latest robotic ones.

Yet, amidst this array of garden machines, I recently came across the Greenworks 21-inch 40V Brushless Self-Propelled Mower. And, folks, it deserves attention.

What I Like

What I Don't Like

Design

Straight out of the box, the Greenworks 21-inch 40V Brushless Self-Propelled Mower feels well-built. It boasts a robust design that one would expect from a mower of this caliber. The large 21-inch cutting deck indicates its ability to cover vast areas efficiently.

And for fans of eco-friendly products, you’ll appreciate its battery-powered mechanism, which means less pollution and noise.

Features of the Greenworks 21-inch 40V Brushless Self-Propelled Mower

Assembly & Start-Up

The mower’s assembly was a breeze. The manual provided clear instructions, and it was all set within minutes. Powering up the Greenworks is also notably straightforward.

A single push of the start button and the mower roars to life—well, not “roar” exactly, since it’s significantly quieter than its gasoline counterparts. Insufficient pull cords, gas fumes, and cumbersome maintenance checks are a definite plus.

Performance & Maneuverability

Using the Greenworks mower for smaller lawns and more extensive commercial properties, this 40V power promises potency and doesn’t disappoint. This gives the same feels as the Greenworks 25302 push mower model.

The brushless motor delivered consistent power when navigating through thick turf or the occasional damp spot after a rain shower.

Being self-propelled, it gives an effortless mowing experience. The mower did not let me down. Its traction on slopes and uneven terrains was admirable. Adjusting the speed according to my walking pace was also intuitive.

Battery Life

One of the most crucial aspects of a battery-powered mower is its battery life. The Greenworks 21-inch boasts a 40V lithium-ion battery [1]. On a full charge, it managed to mow approximately half an acre.

An additional battery might be necessary for larger properties, but for most homeowners, this run time should be more than adequate. Charging was quick and efficient, ensuring minimal downtime.

Cutting Quality & Options

The mower offers multiple cutting heights, adjustable via a single lever. Finding the right height is easy if you want a close shave or to leave the grass a bit longer.

The cut quality was consistent throughout, leaving a clean, even appearance. The mulching option was efficient, redistributing the clippings evenly across the lawn, while the bagging feature collected clippings effectively without much spillage.

Eco-friendliness & Noise Level

Being battery-operated, the Greenworks mower emits zero carbon emissions. For environmentally-conscious folks like me, this is a significant advantage.

The noise level was another pleasant surprise. It runs much quieter than gas mowers, ensuring a peaceful mowing experience without needing earmuffs.

Maintenance & Storage

One of the significant advantages of this mower is the minimal maintenance required. Without the hassle of oil changes, spark plug replacements, or air filter cleanings, there’s no wasted time tinkering, allotting more time working.

The collapsible design also meant storage was a non-issue. It easily folds to a compact size, freeing up valuable garage space.

Review Conclusion: Greenworks 21-inch 40V Brushless Self-Propelled Mower

The Greenworks 21-Inch 40V Brushless Self-Propelled Mower has proved to be a formidable contender in lawn maintenance. Its robust performance, eco-friendliness, and easy maintenance make it a great option for professionals and homeowners.

If you’re looking for an eco-friendly, efficient, and high-performance lawn mower, the Greenworks 21-inch mower might be the perfect fit. It’s a solid investment that delivers excellent results while minimizing your carbon footprint.
