Cross-cutting (or miter cutting)

To do a cross-cut, you must first cut in two different directions simultaneously, one parallel to the other. The miter table should be adjusted to 0° for a straight crosscut. An angle other than zero degrees is required to perform miter crosscuts on a miter table.

To bevel cut

The blade is facing the workpiece when performing a bevel cut. Straight bevel cuts may be made by setting the miter table to zero degrees and the blade to an angle of 0° to 45°.

Compound miter cutting

A compound miter is a form of miter that simultaneously employs a miter and a bevel angle. Making picture frames, molding, sloping-side boxes, and unique roof framing cuts require this cut.

A bevel-tilted saw arm and a precision miter table control arm are required for this cutting operation. The interaction between the two angle sets in a complicated miter installation necessitates significant caution.

To support long workpieces

Supports are required if the workpiece is to be sag-free. To provide a clean cut, the workpiece should be supported so that it lies level on the saw’s base and the cutting table during cutting. A C-clamp or the available work clamp might be used to keep the work in place.

The instruction handbook includes a compound angle setting chart that might help you get the proper settings. Much preparation is needed before performing a compound cut. Hence trial cuts should be made on waste material.
