As for the Dewalt DWE7491RS table saw, it has a rolling stand. It’s fairly easy to move around as well. Although you might need a bigger space to store this one compared to the C10RJ. Still, it’s very solid and professional-looking.
Motor
I’ve noticed that both the Hitachi and Dewalt table saws come equipped with a 15 amp motor, which is a crucial factor for their cutting performance. However, they do diverge when it comes to speed. The Hitachi C10RJ operates at 4,500 RPM, whereas the Dewalt DWE7491RS steps up the game with a robust 4,800 RPM. Table Size
One of the things we like about the Hitachi C10RJ is the larger working table. It measures 28 ¾ x 22 inches. And thanks to the telescoping table extension, you get a ripping capacity of 35 inches to the right and 22 inches to the left. This is great for woodworkers who have larger projects, because the Hitachi C10RJ won’t have problems working with bigger wood pieces.
Although the Dewalt DWE7491RS has a smaller working table at 26 x 22 inches, it’s still more than enough for most projects. This one has a smaller rip capacity as well, standing at 32 ½ inch.
There’s a clear difference between the two in the table size aspect, with the larger space belonging to Hitachi. We do have to say though that the fence on the DWE7491RS appears to be more robust. The Dewalt is actually heavier in weight, supporting the fact.
Cutting Capacity
In my evaluation of the Hitachi C10RJ and the Dewalt DWE7491RS, I want to highlight a crucial factor: the blades. The Hitachi C10RJ comes with a 10-inch 40-tooth carbide blade, whereas the Dewalt DWE7491RS is fitted with a 10-inch 24-tooth carbide blade.
While that may make the Hitachi the automatic winner, more teeth don’t necessarily mean better. With more teeth, more heat is generated. This eventually leads to slower cuts. So in this case, Dewalt is the better choice.
Where the Dewalt table saw falls short, however, is the absence of a dado plate. So it’s really something to look forward to with the Hitachi C10RJ which has an 8 x 13/16 inch dado capacity.
The Hitachi C10RJ and the Dewalt DWE7491RS tie in cut depth though. Both have a cut depth of 3 ⅛ inch at 0 degrees, and a maximum cut depth of 2 ¼ inch at 45 degrees.
Dust Collection System
As a woodworker, you know the importance of dust collection in keeping the work table clean. It lessen the clutter without having to extensively use shop vacuums for woodworking often. Each table saw has a dust collection system in place.
